About Budge Budge Institute of Technology
Established in 2009, Budge Budge Institute of Technology, commonly known as BBIT, is a technical institute in Budge Budge, West Bengal. The institute is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). BBIT is affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVESD). The college has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B+ grade and by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for its B.Tech ME, EE, ECE, and CSE streams. The college has a total of 11 patents.
BBIT Kolkata courses are B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and Diploma in Engineering. Students can also get admission to the B.Tech programmes through lateral entry. For BBIT admission students need to qualify for the entrance exam applicable to their selected course. For example, Budge Budge Institute of Technology B.Tech admission is provided to students who qualify for WBJEE or JEE Main exams. The college has an exclusive tie-up with the Bank of Baroda for education loans. Students can get all government schemes applicable to them such as Student Credit Card and Government Scholarships.
Budge Budge Institute of Technology campus is spread across 20 acres of land. BBIT admission is based on entrance tests wherein students must produce a valid score in the course-specific entrance examination. For BTech admission the institute participates in the WBJEE counselling, whose registration will begin in July 2024 (tentatively). Students will need WBJEE or JEE Main scorecard for the counselling rounds. For BBIT admission students can appear in national and state-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, WBJEE, JELET, MAT, CMAT, GATE, JEXPO, etc. It also has a provision for lateral entry to the B.Tech programme. BBIT Application Process 2024
Here is a step-by-step guide to the BBIT Kolkata application process:
Step 1: Visit the institute’s official website and click on the ‘Apply Now’ button on the top right-hand corner of the home page.
Step 2: Register yourself on the BBIT application portal and fill out the application form following all instructions.
Step 3: Pay the stipulated BBIT application fee and submit the application.
Budge Budge Institute of Technology Placements
BBIT placements are conducted by the dedicated Traning and Placement Cell (TPC). The college has developed all the required infrastructure to streamline the campus recruitment process. BBIT placements are conducted at the placement cell hall of about 1700 sq. ft.. Every year, a number of organisations from various industries participate in the placement rounds. Budge Budge Institute of Technology cutoff for BTech courses is based on WBJEE and JEE Main scores. WBJEE counselling 2024 will start tentatively from the last week of July 2024. During the counselling rounds, the Budge Budge Institute of Technology cutoff 2024 will be announced. There will be three counselling rounds. After each cutoff round is released, candidates are given time to confirm their admission.

Unfortunately, diploma students from Bihar or any other state with 10th marks are not eligible for WBJEE exam. This is because the minimum WBJEE 2025 eligibility criteria requires that all students (from West Bengal or other states) must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects to get admission to B.Tech degree.

The Budge Budge Institute of Technology does not offer B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering. Therefore, you can not get lateral entry admission to B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering at this college. The fees for the B.Tech (lateral entry) course is Rs 3,00,900 for the complete course. If you are interested in BBIT Kolkata then you can try out other specialisations of B.Tech for admission such as civil engineering, computer science & engineering, information technology, and others.
Dear Student, BBIT takes admissions on the basis of WBJEE score. If they have seats left then they will allow you for BBIT admissions. The registration process for the WBJEE 2023 mop-up round of counselling is scheduled to begin on August 14, 2023. You are advised to complete their registration before this date. The seat allotment results for the mop-up round will be announced by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) on August 22, 2023.
